The continued Worldwide Covid-19 pandemic has caused massive disruption to the global aviation ecosystem. Given the scale of the pandemic, the decision has now been made to hold a virtual version of AviaDev Africa 2021, the leading air service development conference for Africa.

The new event format will be delivered across three consecutive mornings, bringing together the African aviation community for much-needed knowledge sharing and collaboration.

Ravinala Airports will remain the host for the digital event and will use the platform to showcase what Madagascar has to offer when the live event is expected to take place in 2022.

2021 marks the fifth edition of AviaDev Africa and now more than ever it is important to face the headwinds and engage in proactive discussions that will enhance air connectivity to, from, and within the continent. With many aviation stakeholders facing uncertainty, this will be a chance for the African aviation community to come together to forge new collaborations and partnerships to ensure that Africa remains connected regionally and internationally.

Welcome from Patrick Collard, Director General, Ravinala Airports

The aeronautics and tourism industries in Africa are mobilizing to develop their connectivity despite the health crisis.

I am delighted that we are organizing AviaDev in Madagascar, for two consecutive years, 2021 for Aviadev digital and 2022 for Aviadev face-to-face, the most important aviation event in Africa.

We want everyone to be able to be here in person to experience the incomparable Malagasy hospitality, but the safety of our visitors is of utmost importance to us. We are therefore eager to give you a virtual taste of our brand new terminal and infrastructure, as well as the incredible tourist attractions that Madagascar has to offer.

Welcome from H.E. Joël Randriamandranto, Minister of Transport, Tourism and Meteorology of Madagascar

At a time when the aviation and tourism industry are going through an unprecedented crisis, more than ever, we must remain united and committed to the recovery of activities. This initiative appears to be an opportunity for all stakeholders to reinvent themselves by approaching new innovative solutions and together, build a resilient sector trhough this crisis.

Madagascar is a country with strong tourism potential and despite the pandemic, the AVIADEV 2021 edition in virtual format will be an opportunity to demonstrate this and share our diversity and cultural richness, despite geographical barriers. We look forward to welcoming our participants to make this edition a memorable event for all.
