Head of Airline Relations, Route and Business development, Aarhus Airport
David joined the Airport leadership team at Scandinavia’s fifth largest metropolitan area in early 2016 to steer airline connectivity and aviation business development in line with Aarhus’ recognised dynamic economic growth.
An aviation, travel and tourism graduate from the UK – also a keen skier and sailor in his spare time – David has 20 years experience in marketing, communications and strategic business development at major international brands such as British Airways, Air Mauritius, in customer loyalty at Star Alliance and responsible for European and intercontinental marketing at Asia’s largest airline, ANA. His tourism experience includes a Board Director position at Visit Cambridge, one of the UK’s top tourism economies and in the airport sector in management roles at two British airports prior to his relocation to Scandinavia.
David has several high profile brand and marketing accolades to his name and has managed large, successful international teams. He considers himself an “out of the box thinker” in the airline network field and recently cited his current role at Aarhus – which was 2017 European Capital of Culture – as one of the most exciting, fun and rewarding aviation opportunities at any major city in Europe at this time, not just the Nordic region. International traffic at Aarhus Airport is presently growing at over 100% year-on-year. It is currently Scandinavia’s fastest growing airport.
